There are four camp locations to choose from, including Phuket Island, Cha-Am Beach, Chiang Mai, and Buriram in the heart of Thailand. This 21-day trip includes English teaching volunteer activities as well as tours, cultural immersion, and much more.
Camp Thailand’s volunteer program also gives you an opportunity to gain your TEFL/TESOL certification online or onsite in Thailand - after earning your certificate and volunteering with Camp Thailand at its English language programs, the organization will help you find a paid English teaching placement at a Thai school.
The program is open to anyone above the age of 18.
Arrival and Orientation
You will arrive to Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 2:00pm and meet your coordinators for your trip. You will meet up with fellow volunteers and take part in an orientation and Bangkok sightseeing tour.
During your stay, you will be housed in a same-sex room with three to five other volunteers. Dormitory style rooms that can house up to 12 people also are available. Rooms are bright, airy, and fan-cooled, and air-conditioned rooms are available for an additional fee.
After arriving to Thailand, your itinerary is as follows:
Days 2 & 3: Bangkok sightseeing tour, then travel by train or coach to Chiang Mai
Day 4: Program orientation, TEFL/TESOL training, and Thai lesson
Days 5, 6 & 7: Teaching English at English camps at Thai schools
Day 8: Visit Elephant Nature Park
Day 9: Enjoy river rafting or tubing in the day and explore Chiang Mai by night
Day 10: Free day
Day 11: TEFL/TESOL training and Thai language lesson
Days 12, 13, 14 & 15: Teaching English at English camps at Thai schools
Day 16: Teach in the morning and graduation party in the evening
Day 17: Travel to Cha-Am Beach
Days 18, 19 & 20: Enjoy and experience beach life, Thai style
Day 21: Last day of the program - travel back to Suvarnabhumi airport
If you would like to extend your trip by one week, sign up to participate in Camp Thailand’s Elephant Freedom Project or Island Hopping Tour for an additional fee.
