Travel to the Rajasthani region of India for this exciting and fulfilling voluntour opportunity with Bamba Experience! On this trip, you will immerse yourself in the colorful culture of India, see the Taj Mahal, and even go on a camel safari in the desert. Volunteer projects that you can be a part of include women's empowerment and teaching.
Arrival and Orientation
You’ll arrive to Jaipur International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by the Bamba Experience team. The next day, you’ll receive a briefing about your stay in India, and head to the volunteer house in Jaipur, where you’ll attend an orientation covering India and its culture, the volunteer house, what types of activities you will take on during your volunteer project, cultural responsibility, and personal safety and code of conduct. Volunteering begins on day 3, after your orientation on day 2. On the weekend, you'll have free time or a trip to the Taj Mahal, and then resume volunteering on Monday.
The Jaipur volunteer house is located centrally in the city, with access to public transportation, tuk-tuks, and taxis. The house has 12 air-conditioned rooms with two bunk beds, basic shelving for your belongings, and an attached bathroom with a shower and a western-style toilet. The house has one shared lockbox for passports and other small valuables. You’ll have access to wifi, hot water, a washing machine, and two computers.
While the exact project work you will take on during your stay in Jaipur will vary depending on program needs, a typical day of volunteering will follow this schedule:
7:30-8:30: Breakfast at Volunteer Accommodation
9:00-12:30: Project Work
12:30-1:30: Packed Lunch at the Project Location
1:30-2:00: Free Time/Relax
2:00-4:00: Project Work
4:00-5:00: Preparation Meeting/Lesson Planning for Next Day
5:00-5:30: Tea/Coffee at Volunteer House
7:00-8:00: Dinner at Volunteer House
Your program will be facilitated by an accommodation manager, support staff, and project executives, all of whom will make sure that you have the safest and most fulfilling experience possible. On the weekend between your volunteering work, you'll either have free time or a visit to the Taj Mahal. Cultural workshops are included as well, including henna painting, yoga, sari dressing, dinner with a local family, and a cooking demonstration. Your final weekend will be spent in Pushkar with an optional camel safari!
